Typically, interior moulded doors consist of a hollow core and a softwood inner frame. Do moulded doors need painting?

Moulded doors are supplied “Paint Grade”, meaning that the skin (or door face) is primed, with unfinished exposed lipping edges. It's ready for painting on-site. Our white moulded doors make an excellent base for painting. If you'd prefer to stain your interior doors, we'd recommend investing in an unfinished natural-wooden-look door.
